First Floor Electrified--YEA !!

I am cutting out the tin ceiling for the dining room. After cutting the tin ceiling, I painted it white.
The hole is cut to put a chandelier there.

The kitchen floor came up very easily, but not the room above it.  I had to use a heat gun.  Worked great.

This picture made me so HAPPY.  The first floor tape wiring is working.  Yea !!!  Now I will finish the first floor.  Should not take long.

First Floor

This and the next two pictures are of the first floor living room.  I am attaching the tape wiring.  In the first picture, on the far front right is the place where I am going to run the wire tape up to the ceiling for the hanging lights.  That is the only cut splice in this room.  It is important NOT to cut the tape.  The tape was run around the front door.  The coach lights on the outside of the front door wires are threaded through to the inside and will be solder to the tape wire inside.

The next three pictures are the dining room.  Tape is run around the room and a cut piece will be run up the wall to the ceiling.  The tape is threaded through to the kitchen.  There is still lots to do in this room: wall paper, ceiling tin (needs to be painted), buff up the floor, put up the ceing and floor molding.....put in doors.

This is the kitchen.  It was really hard to get the old flooring taken off.  There was tons of glue residue in the back right corner.  I had to take a chisel to get the floor up in that corner.  I have Kilz the walls.  Have to put up tape wiring, paint and put up tin ceiling, put up wall paper and put down tile floor.  Then up goes the ceiling and floor molding.  Oh, I forgot about the tape running up the wall to the ceiling for the ceiling lights.

This is my sweetie husband sanding the ruff dried glue off the kitchen floor so the tile floor will go down .

Take care,

Beginning Wiring

There has been alot done, but I only took three pictures. This is the slot where the tape wiring will come out of the house and hook up to the transformer plug.  After I get it all hooked up I will start painting the out side.  Lots of twist and turns and small places.

I am sealing the place on the wall where the tape wiring goes with Kilz.  In the other rooms I will paint the whole rooms with Kilz.
It is very important - IMPORTANT - that the tape wiring not be cut into too many places.  The second picture above, the living room, there were four to five cuts in the tape wiring; now there will only be two.  The roll of tape is to the far left and is threaded through two walls, ending on the outside.  I am also making a template for the living room ceiling for ceiling paper-very tedious-lots of twists and turns.

Hopefully post next week,

Time to Electrify

I am sick to death of the pink wallpaper I was "slashing".  It takes hours to get a tiny bit off.  SO...I decided to start something new, while working on the stubborn wallpaper.  I am taking off the transformer plug and took the "very bad" tape off.  I will also paint the out side of the house, which is in bad shape, and wall paper the inside of the first room.

The second picture is me pulling the old tape wire
off.  Putting the new tape on is going to be a snap.
By all,

The Slasher !!!!!

I am cutting the stubborn wallpaper into ribbons up and down and left to right.  The area equals 1/6th of the wall.  Putting on the Piranha every 15 mins. TID was tedious.  While IT was setting up, I worked on the room nexted to it with my fabric softener/water concoction-it came down great...and no slashing.
I do not know what kind of wallpaper glue/paste was used on this pink room, but it is stuck for good.
I figure the rest of the wall paper will take two week to get down if I work every day.
Be back in 2 weeks-everyone take care.

Piranha

The tiny bit of wall you see took two weeks to get off.  While I was doing this room, I was taking wallpaper off other rooms.
Well, I backed up and regrouped.  This Piranha heavy duty wp remover was used in a people house and worked really well.  I tried it this afternoon and it did not work so well. BUT...I never give up.  This evening I am going to score the heck out of the wallpaper and soak it three times for 45 mins with a foam brush (I think I can get more under the wp).  It worked before, so I know it will work again.  Will let you know tomorrow.

Tearing Down the House-part 1

Well, it is time to strip all the wall paper and pull up two floors.  This first picture is the first floor living room (right).  I can not find where the wiring from the first floor connects to the second floor.  I will have to strip ALL the walls to find the connection.  Only the living room lights work.  It has changed what I plan to do first.  Stripping all the wall paper is first.  Some rooms are easy (3 so far)  to strip, the room on the second floor left is a tuff one.  My shoulders are really sore.
This is the first floor middle room.  It was a snap to strip and the floor is beautiful.

This is the kitchen on the first floor left.  Nancy wants the floor to be ripped up and a white tile floor laid down. The wallpaper was so-so to take off.  The floor is sort hard to take off-but it is almost off.

This is the second floor far left room.  It is really tuff to get the wallpaper off.  But, I have kept at it all day.  The rest of the rooms are going to be tuff to strip too.  When I am finished stripping, I am going to prime all the bare wood walls.  It preserves the dollhouse and makes the wall paper stay on better.
I am working on stripping several rooms at a time.

Be back in a couple of weeks.
